Is Your Blood Pressure High? Keep it Under Control with help of your Healthcare Team A high blood pressure campaign was organized the IPE Student Association and included students from different healthcare professions. This event aimed at spreading awareness about the high blood pressure. |
3rd of March: Third Annual IPE Forum
Organized by the IPE Student Association and it is designed for students from various healthcare disciplines to present their research results, advocate for their profession, reflect on a IPE experience / Share an IPE moment and compete in categories for best poster and oral presentation.

15 May 2017: Class acitivity - Introducing IPE
we had around 81 healthcare students from the three programs in the College of Health Sciences introduced to the concept of IPE in a very interactive and informative session. The event was another great success with great appreciation to the great facilitators who ensured our students had a great learning experience.

14 May 2017: Class activity - Antibiotic Stewardship
We had 12 medical, 22 pharmacy, and 37 biomedical students, representing three healthcare professions joined forces and worked together collaboratively to learn about antibiotic stewardship and solve a complex patient case sharing decisions together. Great discussions between the students took place starting with the icebreaker game. This was followed by a short lecture on antibiotic stewardship and a discussion amongst the team member of the role their profession plays in antimicrobial stewardship. The last part of the session was case based patient discussion on pneumonia where the students needed to work interprofessionally day by day to resolve the case.

31 March 2017: Smoking Cessation Campaign
A smoking cessation campaign was organized by the Pharmacy Alumni Chapter, the Qatar Pharmacy Undergraduate Student Society and the IPE Student Society.
This event aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of smoking and adviced the public about methods of quitting. The event took place on Friday 31st of March in Landmark from 3:00 - 9:00 PM |
26 March 2017: Class acitivity - Being an Effective Team Player
We had 96 healthcare students, representing four healthcare professions: Nursing, Nutrition, Pharmacy and Public Health joined forces to learn about being an effective team player with a focus on ‘teamwork and patient safety’. Great discussions between the students took place starting with the misconception game. This was followed by a video reflection exercise Exploring the Concept of Team Communication and Decision Making and then Case Based Discussion on Faulty communication by the team.

21 March 2017: Class activity - IPE Mental Health Simulation
a new IPE simulation activity was delivered to pharmacy and nursing students around the topic of Mental health. Students from the different programs were paired up to interview a standardized patient suffering from one of the following mental health diseases: OCD, bipolar, addictions, depression and drug abuse.

30 November 2016: Class activity - Introducing IPE
A total of 94 first year students representing four healthcare professions: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy joined together for their first ever IPE activity introducing them to the concept of interprofessional education with very engaging and interactive activities. One of the groups take home message that the interprofessional team is like a body with each profession represented in an organ and hence this body cannot function properly if one of these organs is missing.

20 November 2016: Class activity - Smoking cessation
A total of 91 students representing six healthcare professions: Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedicine, Public Health and Respiratory Therapy joined forces to learn about smoking cessation together and work through a patient case sharing their unprofessional perspective first before making collaborative decisions together.

5-9 September 2016: All Together for Better Health Conference
Executive members of the IPE-SS participated in the International Healthcare Challenge at the 8th International Conference on Interprofessional Practice and Education which was recently held at Oxford University.
